Europe’s top modern pentathletes will begin the battle for Olympic selection in the UK when the University of Bath hosts the 2015 European Modern Pentathlon Championships – the first senior international modern pentathlon competition held in the UK since the London 2012 Olympic Games.
More than 100 top pentathletes from around Europe will compete at the championships which will include Britain’s Samantha Murray, current World Champion and Olympic Silver medallist from London 2012 who will be seeking to secure her place for Rio, as the top eight men and top eight women in the individual finals will achieve the qualifying standard for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
An opportunity to see the five sports of Modern Pentathlon (swimming, fencing, riding and run/shoot) as athletes complete all of the events on one day, with the final combined run/shoot deciding the medals in a first past the post style finish.
A great day out, watching live sport in the compact world class venue and host, the University of Bath.
