Athlete Insights 2009-Executive Summary
SubscribeThe 2009 Athlete Insights Survey continues a series of similar surveys conducted in 1999, 2003 and 2007 and provides an overview of athletes' opinions on the World Class programmes and their experiences of being an elite athlete at the beginning of the London Olympiad.
The findings provide a basis on which to help UK Sport and national governing bodies (NGBs) improve the World Class system; they also help UK Sport to account to the Department for Culture Media and Sport for the use of Exchequer and Lottery funding.
With the majority of questions relating directly to UK Sport’s Mission 2012 monitoring system, the survey also offers an important athlete perspective on the progress that NGBs are making towards delivering success at London 2012.
