Equalities Legislations: A Guidance for Governing Bodies of Sport (2007)

Equalities Legislation: Guidance for Governing Bodies of Sport 2007 contains a clear and simple explanation of the legal duties and requirements for Governing Bodies of sport under the six major equality strands - gender, disability, race, sexual orientation, religion or belief and age.

This Guidance was written in 2007. The Equality Act 2010 will become law in October 2010 and may have additional implications for Governing Bodies of sport.

Transsexual People and Sport: Guidance for Sporting Bodies (2005)

The guidance provides best practice in ensuring the legal rights of transsexual people are upheld. Produced in association with The Gender Trust, the Women's Sport Foundation, the Central Council of Physical Recreation, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Department for Constitutional Affairs and The Gender Recognition Panel, it covers access to facilities, participation in sports by transsexual people and the issues of drug testing and gender verification.

This Guidance was written in 2005. The Equality Act 2010 will become law in October 2010 and may have additional implications for Governing Bodies of sport.
