Education advice and awards are available
When making a decision about studying the EIS Sport and Study website can be a useful tool. It can help you decide which academic institute best matches your high performance sporting skills. There is a range of information that will help make that choice easier. Visit the website to view academic institutions.
You may be trying to combine study with your sport, or you may be thinking about taking further qualifications and training in preparation for life after sport. Performance Lifestyle provides guidance in the following areas:
It is essential that any learning you undertake fits in with your sporting commitments and is manageable for you in terms of time and effort. Advisers can provide you with a number of options and help you select the plan that suits your demands, as well as showcasing a range of professional courses to provide a variety of possibilities and choices.
Education Awards are available to WCPP athletes. As part of the Performance Lifestyle Programme you will be entitled to apply for funding towards the costs of further education, career development or gaining vocational skills. One of the main purposes of this funding is to help you build up a career or a vocation for the future after competition. Applications will also be supported to achieve a sport/life balance, or if a need exists to develop essential non-sporting life skills for use whilst still training and competing, e.g. cookery.
Applications and details on planning and how to integrate study with sporting commitments are processed through your Performance Lifestyle adviser. The maximum you can apply for is £1,000 in any 12 months. For details see the Education Award Policy. To apply visit your Performance Lifestyle adviser.
