The UK Strategy Framework for Women and Sport.
UK Sport, with the home country sports councils, will develop collaborative projects, share best practice and provide support where it is most needed. Some of this work is detailed below.
UK Sport has developed an Equality & Diversity Strategy plus a Race Equality Scheme that will ensure we meet our legal obligations as well as establishing equality principles and policies within UK Sport and our work with partner organisations.

Working in collaboration with home country sports councils, CCPR and equity organisations, UK Sport has developed the Equality Standard for sport. The Standard builds on the success of the Racial Equality Standard and provides a tool for sports organisations to work progressively towards equality. The Equality Standard will ensure equality is integrated into all aspects of sports bodies' operations and services to memebers, athletes, staff and volunteers.

Equalities Legislation: Guidance for Governing Bodies of Sport contains a clear and simple explanation of the legal duties and requirements for Governing Bodies of sport under the six major equality strands - gender, disability, race, sexual orientation, religion or belief and age.

The guidance provides best practice in ensuring the legal rights of transsexual people are upheld. Produced in association with The Gender Trust, the Women's Sport Foundation, the Central Council of Physical Recreation, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Department for Constitutional Affairs and The Gender Recognition Panel, it covers access to facilities, participation in sports by transsexual people and the issues of drug testing and gender verification.

In 2001 UK Sport formed the UK Co-ordinating Group on Women and Sport. Members include representatives from the Womens Sports Foundation, Home Country Sports Councils, elite athletes and the Women's National Commission. The Co-ordinating Group is chaired by Dr Anita White and was tasked with developing a UK Strategy Framework for Women and Sport.
Three strategic objectives with targets were agreed and these will be monitored annually:
