UK Sport has today started its search for a new Chief Executive, following last week’s announcement of John Steele’s appointment as CEO of the Rugby Football Union.
The advertisement highlights the need for applicants who ‘have operated at Board or senior management level within high performance sport and can evidence a track record of demonstrably enhancing an organisation through decisive leadership and strategic decision making underpinned by strong financial planning and accountability’.
The successful candidate will ‘lead the organisation to ensure it is best prepared for delivery at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and beyond. The remit of the role is to set and drive the strategy for high performance sport by investing in Olympic and Paralympic success, bidding & staging major sporting events on home soil and for promoting British sport’s interest & engagement internationally covering 2012 but well beyond.’
The post carries a ‘six figure salary’ and the closing date for applications is 5 July.
Outgoing Chief Executive Steele will leave UK Sport in late July.
