About 60 nations are expected to take part in the Championships with around 600 athletes competing.
The World Rowing Junior Championships see the launch of a number of future stars. Looking back over the results of previous championships, we see the names of many athletes who later went on to achieve Olympic and other senior championship successes.
In 2011 the Championships will take place at Dorney Lake, Eton – the course was built by Eton College and will host the Rowing and Canoe Sprint competitions for the London Olympic Games in 2012 and also the Rowing competitions for the London Paralympic Games
