The GB World Cup is the most spectacular and exciting judo events in the country. A key event on the International Judo Federation World Circuit, it attracts the highest-level competitors fighting for Olympic qualification ranking points.
Each year the British leg alternates between Men and Women, with 2011 being a Men’s event in Liverpool, offering a chance for the British public to see some of the London 2012 Olympic hopefuls in action.
The British Men will be looking for the support of a home crowd as the buzz increases around the Olympic Games just 10 month away.
As well as all the World-class bouts on the mat, there will also be lots to see and do including face painting, traders and exhibitors, catering outlets for food and refreshments, musical entertainment, plus the Echo wheel of Liverpool located on the piazza of the arena. It is also just a stone’s throw away from the historical Albert Dock.
