The European Gymnastics Championships is the most important event in the UEG’s calendar and more than 800 of Europe’s finest gymnasts will be competing with up to 40 countries expected to send teams.
There are team and individual competitions for men and women, seniors and juniors. The junior competition is also the qualifying event for the first ever Youth Olympic Games, which take place in Singapore later in the year. This represents the last major gymnastics championships to be held in Britain before the London 2012 Olympic Games and it will give the competing gymnasts a taste of the atmosphere to come in 2012.
The event will be held from 21 April to 2 May 2010 at the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham and is being jointly organised by the UEG, British Gymnastics and Birmingham City Council.
