Gymnastics has been part of the Olympic programme since the first Games of the modern era in 1896. Gymnasts compete in both individual and team all-around events for Rhythmic and Artistic whilst the Trampoline discipline comprises of only men’s and women’s individual events.
Max Whitlock became Team GB's first Olympic gymnastics champion when he won gold in the floor event at Rio 2016. He is Britain's most successful ever gymnast, securing successive pommel horse titles and six medals overall, ending his career at Paris 2024.
Olympic debutants Jake Jarman and Harry Hepworth both won bronze medals in the French capital in the floor and vault events respectively.
