England's schedule for the Hockey World League Semi-Final has been announced as the world's best battle to get to the final.
The competition in London sees the very best teams face off with those who have fought their way through from World League 2. With a place in the prestigious World League Final and World Cup Qualification on the line the stakes don’t get much higher for some of the leading teams in the game.
Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre has already hosted a number of world class international hockey events since 2015, becoming the place where hockey history happens. Bobby Crutchley’s new-look England will blend experience and exciting rising stars and channel the home support as they take on some of the finest players in the game. This is a tournament that is not to be missed and tickets begin at just £2.50 for children and £10 for adults.
Five other teams have been confirmed to compete in the competition along with England: Argentina, the Olympic Champions and world number two ranked team are the side that immediately catch the eye. Add in European Champions the Netherlands, Asian Champions Trophy holders and runners-up India, and Pakistan and the flair of Korea and it is a line up bursting with talent.
Sunday 18 June has been dubbed 'Super Sunday' and it is not difficult to see why. The first game of the day pairs Pakistan with India. With 11 Olympic titles between them this has historically been one of the fiercest rivalries in the game and it shows no sign of letting up. India had the edge at the 2016 Asian Champions Trophy so Pakistan will be out for revenge. Follow that up with hosts England going head to head with the Olympic Champions Argentina it will be a day to remember.
The weekend tickets are already selling fast with semi-final and final tickets as well as Super Sunday places being snapped up by eager hockey fans, the atmosphere will surely be electric for this exciting tournament.
