Look Ahead to Day 13

Published 18 August 2016

We welcome triathlon to the party today, in which we will see the infallible Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee return to the Olympic stage as reigning gold and bronze medallist. The brothers dominated the podium at London 2012, but it will be a tough course in Rio, starting on Copacabana Beach, followed by tough climbs and steep descents on the bike section, as endured by Britain’s road cyclists earlier in the Games.

Hopefully conditions will be right for Hannah Mills and Saskia Clarke so that they can compete in the medal race, which was yesterday postponed, so they can finally collect their guaranteed 470 gold medal.

Nicola Adams fights in the semi-final in her pursuit of gold and retaining her Olympic title. She is already guaranteed a bronze, but will have her eyes on a win, as will defending Olympic champion Jade Jones, who gets her Taekwondo campaign underway.

And after an impressive rise through the rounds, Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis aim to finish their emphatic run with a bronze medal, but they face a tough encounter with Chinese pair Chai & Hong for the last spot on the podium.

More details of highlights throughout the day are below (times denoted are BST). For a full schedule, live updates and stats visit #EVERYROADtoRIO Live or keep up with medal moments by following @UK_Sport on Twitter.
