UK Sport today confirmed the outcome of its 2015/16 Annual Investment Review with summer Olympic and Paralympic sports receiving funding for the Rio cycle.
The Annual Investment Review considers the performance of each sport against its agreed 2015 targets, alongside performance analytics and opportunities to protect or enhance medal potential for Rio.
As a result three sports have received additional funding. These sports are Fencing, Wheelchair Fencing and Wheelchair Rugby (additional £40,925, £59,072 and £11,500k respectively). There were no other changes to investment levels as a result of this Annual Investment Review process.
UK Sport is investing around £350million of National Lottery and Exchequer funds into preparing Great Britain’s best athletes for Rio 2016 and beyond to build on the outstanding success of London 2012.
