Back in July we announced that 12* athletes had been fast-tracked in to the GB Canoeing World Class Programme after successfully coming through the Girls4Gold talent identification programme.
Together with UK Sport and the English Institute of Sport (EIS), GB Canoeing launched Girls4Gold: Canoeing in late 2013 to uncover powerful, female athletes to compete in the 200m and 500m canoe and kayak events and ultimately represent GB at the Olympic Games.
BBC Get Inspired, which focuses on the inspiring people and stories behind Olympic and Paralympic sport, has been following the girls since their very first testing day in January and has now released a video documenting their journey as they aim to make the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
You can watch the video on the BBC Get Inspired website.

*Three more athletes have since also been selected, as well as 20 younger athletes who joined a GB Canoeing ‘Sprint Futures’ programme.
