Day Eight of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games saw Team England build upon their position in the table, with Gymnastics again pulling in a number of medals across the home nations.

Max Whitlock brought home both a gold and silver for Team England as did young Claudia Fragapane, both now having won their third Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth gold medals. Team Scotland’s Dan Keatings took gold in an all-star Pommel event in front of an electric crowd.

Even though it poured, the rain couldn’t dampen the spirits as the Athletics proved just as fruitful. David Weir won his first Commonwealth gold medal and Eilidh Child bagged a deserved and emotional silver at Hampden Park Stadium.
