UK Sport CEO Liz Nicholl has reflected on the year since the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games: "One year on from London 2012, I think it is clear that the Games has proved to be a catalyst for British sporting success; we are a nation with the belief it can produce winners. We must ensure the momentum of London 2012 continues to inspire the nation for many years to come. That’s why UK Sport is investing record amounts of National Lottery and Government funding in Olympic and Paralympic sports, our Gold Events Series is creating a ‘stage to inspire’ and our athletes are giving back by visiting schools, clubs and community projects.
