Job Description
Stadium Safety & Security Managers

Contract & Location: Two confirmed opportunities starting April 2027 based at Wembley Stadium, London.

We are also taking expressions of interest for tournament-time opportunities across our eight host cities in 2028

About UK & Ireland 2028 Limited

UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is the local organising committee responsible for delivering UEFA EURO 2028 across the UK & Ireland. We work on behalf of the five Football Associations and in partnership with governments, host cities, stadiums and delivery partners to plan and deliver the tournament safely, inclusively and to world-class standards.

About UEFA EURO 2028

UEFA EURO is one of the world’s largest sporting events. In 2028, it will be hosted across multiple cities in the UK & Ireland, requiring large-scale coordination across transport, infrastructure, stadiums and public services. UEFA owns the tournament and sets requirements; UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is responsible for delivering it locally.

The Opportunities

We’re looking for experienced Stadium Safety & Security professionals to help us prepare for and deliver this major sporting event.

We’re recruiting for two confirmed Stadium Safety & Security Manager positions starting in April 2027, while also welcoming expressions of interest from professionals who may be available for shorter-term opportunities during tournament delivery in 2028.

As part of the application, we will ask you to confirm if you are applying for the confirmed positions starting in April 2027 and/or registering an interest in the possible 2028 opportunities.   You can choose to do both.

Our tournament opportunities are subject to confirmation of operational requirements and may include fixed-term employment or freelance/day-rate arrangements, depending on business needs.  Expressing an interest does not guarantee consideration or offer of employment.

What you’ll be doing

- Working closely with our Stadium Safety & Security team, host stadiums and key delivery partners, you’ll help ensure venues are prepared to deliver a safe and successful tournament.

- Depending on the opportunity, your responsibilities will include:

- Leading and coordinating venue-specific safety and security planning.

- Working with host stadiums, police, emergency services and other stakeholders to develop and implement operational plans.

- Supporting stewarding and security workforce planning, including resourcing, budgets and operational readiness.

- Identifying and managing safety and security risks, operational challenges and dependencies.

- Contributing to stadium security perimeter planning and wider tournament operations.

- Supporting venue readiness, command structures and operational delivery during the tournament.

Essential Requirements

- Experience planning safety and security operations at large-capacity venues, ideally accommodating more than 20,000 spectators.

- Strong knowledge of relevant safety legislation, guidance and operational requirements.

- Experience planning and managing stewarding and security resources and budgets.

You don’t need to have previously worked on an international football tournament. We welcome relevant experience from across major events, stadiums and other complex spectator environments.

Please see the attached role profile for more details

Everyone is welcome

We’re hiring for excellence through inclusion

We’re building a skilled, values-led workforce that reflects the diversity of the UK and Ireland. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and don’t expect a traditional career path.

We’re happy to make reasonable adjustments—please contact careers@uki2028.com.

All roles are subject to appropriate DBS checks.
