About Us

Trafford Leisure is a community-focused leisure operator and Community Interest Company, delivering sport, physical activity and wellbeing services on behalf of Trafford Council.

Our purpose is simple: to inspire and create opportunities for the people of Trafford to move more every day and live longer, healthier, happier lives.

As we continue to grow our impact across Trafford, we know our success depends on having the right people, the right leaders and the right culture.

The Role

You’ll be Trafford Leisure’s lead People & Culture expert, providing strategic leadership across people, culture, organisational development and workforce performance, while working closely with senior leaders across the organisation to shape workforce strategy and organisational success.

This is far more than a traditional HR leadership role.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders across the organisation, helping them build high-performing teams, strengthen leadership capability and create an environment where colleagues can thrive.

As a trusted adviser and constructive challenger, you’ll ensure people, culture and organisational performance remain at the heart of decision-making as Trafford Leisure continues to evolve and grow.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and delivery of Trafford Leisure’s People & Culture Strategy
Partner with senior leaders to strengthen organisational and workforce performance
Develop leadership capability and embed a high-performing culture
Lead organisational development, talent and succession planning activity
Provide strategic people insight and expert advice to the Executive Team and Board
Champion colleague wellbeing, engagement, diversity and inclusion
Ensure effective people governance, policies and workforce planning
About You

We’re looking for someone who combines strong People expertise with commercial awareness and a genuine passion for organisational performance.

You will bring:

Significant experience in a senior People, Culture, HR or Organisational Development leadership role.
A proven track record of partnering with senior leaders to improve organisational performance.
Experience leading organisational change, culture development and workforce transformation initiatives.
Strong coaching, influencing and relationship-building skills.
CIPD qualification or equivalent professional experience.
Most importantly, you’ll understand that great organisations succeed when people, performance and purpose work together.

Benefits

The opportunity to shape culture, influence strategy and make a lasting difference to the communities we serve.
A supportive and values-led organisation, with flexibility and hybrid working where business needs allow.
32 days’ holiday, rising incrementally to 39 days.
Health Cash Plan, Employee Assistance Programme, GP Support and Ride 2 Work schemes.
Complimentary Fitness Membership for you, plus heavily discounted memberships for family and friends.
