Job Description
The Role
Milton Keynes Dons Football Club is seeking an experienced, highly organised and motivated Kit & Cleaning Manager to lead the delivery of an elite kit, equipment and cleaning operation supporting the Club’s First Team and wider football operations.

This is a key operational role within a high-performance football environment, responsible for ensuring that all playing, training, travel and facility requirements are planned, coordinated and delivered to the highest professional standards.

The successful candidate will lead and develop the Kit & Cleaning team, manage operational schedules and budgets, oversee kit and equipment logistics, and ensure First Team environments consistently meet exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the Kit & Cleaning Department, ensuring high professional standards at all times.
• Plan and coordinate all playing, training, matchday and travel kit and equipment requirements.
• Oversee laundry operations, ensuring all kit is cleaned, maintained and prepared correctly.
• Manage the cleaning and presentation of First Team facilities, including dressing rooms, offices, dugouts and matchday areas.
• Manage staff rotas, workloads and schedules, providing leadership, support and development.
• Maintain accurate kit and equipment stock records, completing regular audits and addressing shortages or damage.
• Coordinate home and away match logistics, training camps and team travel, including packing, loading, transportation and setup.
• Manage procurement and departmental budgets, ensuring value for money and financial compliance.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, safeguarding, GDPR, FA, EFL and Club policies and procedures.
• Build effective relationships with players, coaches, support staff, management, venues and external stakeholders.
• Conduct quality checks and inspections to maintain consistently high standards.
• Manage the safe use, storage and handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Carry out minor kit/equipment maintenance and repairs where required.
• Respond quickly and professionally to changing operational demands and problems.
• Promote a professional, organised and high-performance environment across the Club.

About you
We are looking for an individual who is highly organised, dependable, proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to operate effectively in a demanding professional football environment.
You will have:
• Previous experience managing kit and/or facilities operations within a professional football club or high-performance environment.
• Experience managing staff, rotas and work schedules.
• A full driving licence.
• FA Learning Safeguarding Children Certificate.
• Strong organisational, logistical and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to demanding deadlines.
• A strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements, including the safe use and storage of cleaning and laundry chemicals.
• Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build effective working relationships with players, coaches, support staff, management and external stakeholders.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and spreadsheet management.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider high-performance team.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to changing operational requirements.
• A high level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
• The physical ability to undertake the demands of the role, including walking, standing, bending, stretching, lifting and carrying.
• Relevant qualifications in English and Maths.

DESIRABLE
• Qualifications in operations, facilities management or a related discipline.
• Previous experience working within a controlled and regulated environment.
• Category D1 driving licence, where applicable.

WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES
This is a physically active and operationally demanding position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working outdoors and indoors in a range of seasonal weather conditions.
The role involves regular walking, prolonged periods of standing, bending, stretching, lifting and carrying equipment, as well as driving the Club's kit vehicle to fixtures, training camps and other destinations.
Long-distance travel may be required, including journeys of up to approximately five hours, with appropriate rest periods applied.
