League Operations Manager – South London Girls Football League

South London Girls Football Academy
Organisation
South London Girls Football Academy
Salary
£20 per hour
Location
SE12 8AW
Contract type
Permanent (Part time)
Closing date
4 November 2026
Job Description
Sunday mornings | £20/hr (£50 per Sunday) | Colfe’s Leisure Centre, London SE12 8AW | Starts Sunday 8 November

Boys in South London start playing matches at Under 7. Until recently, girls had nowhere to play.

We built the South London Girls Football League to change that. Now we need the person who makes it happen every Sunday.

The role in one line: you turn an empty all-weather pitch into a matchday for 30–40 young girls, and you’re done by 1pm.

Why you’ll enjoy it

- Done by 1pm. 10:30am–1pm, and the rest of your Sunday is yours.
- Rain or shine, it goes ahead. All-weather central venue: no boggy pitches, no last-minute call-offs, no lost pay.
- Real impact. Without this league, these girls wouldn’t be playing matches at all.
- Same place, same time, every week. Easy to plan your life around.
- Cover allowed. Can’t make a Sunday? Send an approved substitute who knows the set-up.

Key details

Location: Colfe’s Leisure Centre, London SE12 8AW
Hours: Sundays 10:30am–1pm (set-up 10:30–11:30am, games 11:30am–12:30pm, pack-down 12:30–1pm)

Pay: £20 per hour (£50 per Sunday). 18 Sundays remain this season, including festival days: about £900.

Season: term-time Sundays until April, then single-day festivals in April, May and June. Full dates at slgfl.co.uk

Start: Sunday 8 November
Basis: self-employed, invoiced monthly
Reports to: League Directors

What you’ll do

- Bring equipment out from storage and build the goals and pitches (two per league) before players arrive.
- Have everything ready for kick-off at 11:30am.
- Organise players into their teams, and rebalance them when players are missing.
- Work with the games managers who oversee the Under 7s. Under 8 games are refereed by the team managers.
- Keep the matchday safe, welcoming and on time.
- Pack down and return all equipment by 1pm.

What you’ll need

- Experience in football or school sport
- Enhanced DBS certificate
- Safeguarding qualification
- First aid qualification
- Fitness to carry goals and equipment
- Ability to travel to the venue yourself
- Organised, calm, and good with young children and parents
How to apply
Email your CV to contact@slgfa.co.uk with “League Operations Manager” in the subject line. Shortlisted candidates will have a short video interview. The role starts Sunday 8 November, so apply now. We particularly welcome applications from women. South London Girls Football League is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to satisfactory safeguarding checks, including an Enhanced DBS check.
