Job Description
Football can be so much more than what happens on the pitch.

It can bring people together, create opportunities, improve health and wellbeing and help communities thrive.

Across Lincolnshire, there is an opportunity to build on that potential, ensuring football continues to grow while playing an even greater role in the communities it serves.

Now, Lincolnshire FA is looking for an ambitious and inspiring leader to help make that happen.

We are recruiting a Head of Football Strategy & Delivery, an exciting opportunity to join our Senior Management Team and lead the development and delivery of football across the county.

Leading the future of football

This is a pivotal role in shaping how football develops across Lincolnshire.

As Head of Football Strategy & Delivery, you will lead all football development activity across the Association, translating strategic ambitions into action and ensuring our priorities deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes.

Working with clubs, leagues, volunteers, schools, local authorities and wider partners, you will help create a more connected and collaborative football network, strengthening existing provision while exploring new opportunities for the game.

That means looking beyond participation alone and considering the bigger picture: how can we maximise football's contribution to the people and communities of Lincolnshire?

From supporting the affiliated game and improving opportunities for underrepresented groups to exploring football's role in wider health, wellbeing and community development, you'll help shape an approach that recognises the full potential of the game.

Building partnerships that go further

Football doesn't operate in isolation. Its greatest impact often comes when the right people and organisations work together.

A key part of this role will be developing and maintaining strong relationships across the county and beyond, bringing partners together around shared ambitions and identifying opportunities to achieve more through collaboration.

You'll help strengthen Lincolnshire FA's position as a strategic leader within the wider football landscape, working with stakeholders to understand local needs, identify opportunities and develop innovative approaches to football provision.

You'll also play an important role in supporting The FA's New Network Ambition, engaging with colleagues across the national football network to share best practice, encourage innovation and strengthen the delivery of football locally.

Ultimately, this is about making sure football has a voice in wider conversations about communities, health, education and social impact, and ensuring the game is recognised for everything it can contribute.

Turning strategy into meaningful impact

Having a vision is one thing. Making it happen is another.

You'll oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of local football development plans, ensuring our work is focused, joined-up and delivering against organisational priorities.

You'll use insight, performance measures and evaluation to understand progress, identify opportunities for improvement and demonstrate the difference our work is making.

Leading and developing a high-performing team will be central to your success. You'll provide direction and support to our Delivery Officers, Club and Workforce Development Officer and Coach Development Manager, ensuring people, resources and programmes are aligned behind a shared vision.

This is an opportunity to influence not only what Lincolnshire FA delivers, but how we work together to achieve more for football across the county.

Be part of something bigger

At Lincolnshire FA, our work is about more than football. It's about the people who make the game possible and the communities that benefit from it.

You'll join a passionate team, supported by an incredible network of volunteers, clubs and partners who give their time and energy to grassroots football across Lincolnshire.

As a member of our Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you'll have the opportunity to influence the direction of the Association, contribute to key organisational decisions and deputise for the CEO when required.

We're a forward-thinking and inclusive organisation that values its people and supports their personal and professional development. We're proud of our community roots and the impact we can make when we work together.

Could you help shape what's next?

We're looking for an exceptional leader who can combine strategic vision with operational excellence.

You'll bring experience of strategic leadership, a track record of building effective partnerships and the ability to lead, inspire and develop people.

You'll be confident working with a wide range of stakeholders, identifying opportunities, managing competing priorities and turning ambitious plans into tangible outcomes.

Most importantly, you'll share our belief in the power of football and be passionate about creating a game that is accessible, inclusive and capable of making a lasting difference.

If you're ready to help shape the future of football, strengthen communities and unlock new opportunities across Lincolnshire, we'd love to hear from you.
