Job Description
ABOUT US
Ealing Trailfinders is an ambitious and progressive, rugby union club based in West-London. The Women’s side compete in JAECOO Premiership Women’s Rugby, and the men play in Champ Rugby.

THE ROLE
Physiotherapist providing effective, high-quality practice to players. Supporting the Women’s Lead Physiotherapist in the planning and delivery of medical services to Trailfinders Women. Predominantly working with the first team but supporting other sections if necessary.
This role will require flexibility, including evenings, weekends and bank holiday work as required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

● Rehabilitation and treatment of injuries to first team players as directed by the Lead Women’s Physiotherapist.
● Assess, analyse, and provide a clinical diagnosis for injured players to determine their need for intervention.
● Manage a caseload of players effectively and efficiently.
● Maintain patient documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and meet professional standards.
● Contribute to the delivery of the pre-season and new players screening programme.
● Provide pregame, pitch side and post-game medical support services at all club home and away fixtures and training sessions.
● Fulfil the role of Hawkeye Video Reviewer for matches as directed by the Lead Women’s Physiotherapist.
● Assist in the collection & analysis of Instrumented Mouthguard data.
● Assist with injury data collection for internal medical audits.
● Maintain a good working relationship with all key personnel, managers, coaches, colleagues and players.
● Proactively assist with all RFU audit and other governance issues as required.
● Continuously remain up to date with current research and practices and discuss implementation where applicable, via formal and informal CPD.
● Contribute positively to the team environment and culture.
● Be a strong consistent example of all the club’s values and vision.
● Any other reasonable duty or request.

THE PERSON

EXPERIENCE
Essential
● Postgraduate experience of working in Physiotherapy / Sports Therapy or Sport Rehabilitation

Desirable
● Experience working with female athletes.
● Experience working with professional rugby players.
● 1-2 years experience working in professional sport

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
● Degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sport Rehabilitation.
● Current HCPC / SST / BASRaT registration.
● Professional indemnity suitable for working with elite athletes.

Desirable
● Current PHICIS Level 3 Trauma qualification.
● Full UK driving licence.

SKILLSET
Essential
● Excellent assessment, diagnosis, and manual therapy skills.
● Knowledge of injury prevention and rehabilitation strategies.
● Ability to plan and implement a return to play for common rugby injuries.
● Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to swiftly build relationships with players, coaching staff, and other medical professionals.
● Evidence of recent, relevant CPD

Desirable
● A passion for rugby and an understanding of the physical demands of the sport.
● Experience or special interest in pelvic health physiotherapy.
