To continue to achieve all of this, we need people who bring fresh ideas, creativity and commitment to making a difference, who want to make a positive and lasting impact on people’s lives, in Wales and beyond.

We’re now seeking a Player Development Centre Coach. As one of three centres in the WRU Player Development Centre (PDC) network, our purpose is to deliver a localised, high-quality training and coaching programme for Wales’ most high potential, pre-elite female players.

As the PDC Coach your role is to support the delivery of an inspiring and transformational development environment for Wales’ next generation of national and international female rugby players in East Wales. Supporting the PDC Lead in delivering the Talent Development Group (TDG) programme plan, to service a minimum of up to 25 players annually.
Optimising high quality, progressive and needs-led coaching, training and developmentally focused competition opportunities for East Wales’s most high potential Players, aligned to individual player plans that develop the person, the player, and the performer (athlete).
Assisting with on field coaching delivery through a sound coaching approach that understands, reflects and supports the Welsh DNA, bringing it to life through technical, tactical and holistic player development.
Helping to facilitate and model positive, collaborative partnerships with the WRU, identified clubs (including Celtic Challenge), universities, schools, and colleges, to ensure appropriate playing programmes are facilitated for PDC players.

What you’ll bring

With exceptional technical knowledge of rugby coaching, you’ll bring experience of developing people within a high-performance sports setting and contribute to the delivery and development of national performance centre. You’ll be confident leading, supporting and empowering others, building effective relationships, and applying your technical knowledge of rugby to support identified players to be able compete at the elite level club.

You’ll also bring:

A Level 2 rugby coaching qualification and/ or presently working towards and registered/recognised Level 3 coaching award.
Exceptional technical knowledge of rugby.
Strong ability to build networks and working relationships and use them to facilitate the accomplishment of shared work goals.
