Job Description: Help Shape the Future of GB Climbing Performance
As GB Climbing continues its journey towards LA28 and beyond to Brisbane 2032, we are seeking to strengthen our Performance Advisory Group (PAG) with additional specialist expertise. Chaired by Hanne Doherty, Board Director with responsibility for Performance, the PAG plays a critical role in supporting and advising the Performance Department on the strategic development of our Olympic, Paralympic and talent programmes. The group provides expert challenge, guidance and oversight across athlete development, performance planning, programme strategy and governance.

We are looking for several individuals who can bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Elite Climbing Performance
• Experience of competing, coaching or operating within elite climbing environments.
• Ideally no longer directly involved in international competition programmes and without significant conflicts of interest relating to current athletes.

Paralympic Athlete Experience
• Experience as an athlete within a Paralympic performance programme.
• Climbing experience is not essential.
• Ability to provide athlete centred insight into performance environments, athlete development and Paralympic pathways.

Selection Policies & Appeals
• Experience developing, implementing or reviewing selection policies and associated appeals processes in high-performance sport.
• Understanding of governance, fairness and decision-making principles.

Paralympic Programme Development
• Expertise in developing Paralympic pathways, programmes or performance systems.
• Understanding of classification, athlete progression and Paralympic performance environments.

Performance Programme Strategy
• Experience leading or shaping high-performance sport strategies.
• Ability to contribute to long term planning, investment priorities, performance targets and organisational development.
