Job Description
About British Cycling

British Cycling exists to bring the joy of cycling to everyone.

We have embarked on an exciting new journey, with a modernised commercial and events offering grounded in social impact and storytelling, harnessing the spotlight and inspiration of our athlete’s performance on the world stage, and our growing portfolio of major events.

We are working towards our three key priorities outlined in our strategy; to support and grow the sport to make cycling more inclusive and accessible, to lead on the world stage by winning and winning well, and to drive social impact by tackling inequalities through providing opportunities.

Great Britain Cycling Team

The Great Britain Cycling Team (GBCT) is the country’s most successful Olympic and Paralympic team in history, with high ambitions to continue this legacy at LA 2028 and beyond.

We are a highly driven and motivated team of skilled and passionate individuals working together to support athletes across seven cycling disciplines, to achieve their full potential and deliver world-beating performances on the biggest stages.

We work hard to support delivery of British Cycling’s vision which includes striving to inspire Britain to be a great cycling nation and sharing the joy of cycling with everyone.

Now is an incredibly exciting year to join the Great Britain Cycling Team, after winning 11 Olympic and 22 Paralympic medals at the most recent Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, as well as having recently celebrated 20 years of the GBCT pathway.

What will you be doing?

Supporting the development and delivery of scientifically informed physiology services to World Class Programme athletes within the Great Britain Cycling Team (GBCT), working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create a world leading, high performance environment that advances the human contribution to cycling performance. The role will support athletes across the GBCT Olympic and Paralympic Programme.

What we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role, you will be:

Curious – You are interested in how athletes are developed across different sports and environments, and you explore how physiology can support continued progress. You are open to learning from other sports, physiologists and coaches, and you value fresh perspectives, thoughtful discussion and constructive challenge.
Passionate – You bring a genuine enthusiasm for physical development and the factors that influence adaptation. You keep up to date with relevant literature and research and consider how emerging evidence might be applied effectively in real-world settings.
Rapport builder – You create positive working relationships built on trust, respect and open communication. You take a proactive and patient approach to strengthening relationships, including when different personalities or perspectives require additional understanding.
Reliable – You can be depended upon to follow through on your commitments. You communicate clearly, manage expectations thoughtfully and aim to complete your work to a consistently high standard.
Conscientious – You pay close attention to detail and care about maintaining high standards in both service delivery and the environment in which you work. You actively seek feedback to support your own development and offer constructive feedback to others when helpful.
Team player – You enjoy working collaboratively, supporting colleagues and contributing wherever your help is most valuable.

Generous Holidays (25 days + bank holidays)
