Job Description
Could you help a growing community rugby league club double its sponsorship income?
Brentwood Eels has grown from two junior teams in 2004 to nine sections today: Primary (U7–U11), Boys U12 to U18, Men, Women, Girls and Wheelchair. More than 100 registered players train and play with us. Six of them have turned professional and 18 have represented their country.
Our costs have grown four-fold since 2021, to about £37,000 a year. Grants are unpredictable, and we finished last season just £1,347 ahead. We have built a new sponsorship pack, priced against our real costs, with packages from £100 to £10,000 a season. Now we need someone to take it to market.
What you'll do
• Own the club's sponsorship pipeline, from first contact to signed agreement
• Sell our Principal, Home Ground, Kit & Equipment, Coach Development and Section Partner packages
• Renew and grow our existing partners, including BlueSerif, Bakers, Provide Community, Sparks Mortgages and Scaffolding Access
• Make sure every partner gets the benefits they paid for, on time
• Report progress to the committee each month
Who we're looking for
• Experience in sales, business development, partnerships or account management
• Confident approaching local businesses and closing deals
• Organised, reliable and good with simple numbers
• A connection to Brentwood or Essex business networks is a bonus
• No rugby league knowledge needed
What you'll get
• A seat on the club committee and a real say in the club's future
• A visible, measurable impact: your deals pay for pitches, medical cover and kit for nine teams
• Strong experience for your CV, plus references from the club
• Expenses covered and a warm welcome from the Eels family
How to apply
Email your CV and a short note about your experience to info@brentwoodrlfc.co.uk by the closing date. Informal chats are welcome. Ask for Anthony Sherwood, Chair. Brentwood Eels welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. This role may involve contact with young people at club events, so an enhanced DBS check will be arranged by the club.
