Job Description
Brentwood Eels RLFC is one of the South of England's leading community rugby league clubs, providing opportunities for players from junior through to senior levels. As part of our continued growth and commitment to player development, we are seeking a passionate and ambitious Performance Analysis & Rugby Development Intern to support our coaching and rugby operations team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly alongside the club's Director of Rugby and Level 3 qualified coaching staff, gaining valuable experience within a progressive rugby league environment while developing practical skills in performance analysis, coaching support, player development and sports technology.

The successful candidate will play an important role in helping the club maximise player development opportunities through video analysis, performance feedback and data-led coaching support.

What You'll Be Doing
Film and capture training sessions and matchday footage using Veo technology.
Assist with the analysis of team and individual performances across junior and senior programmes.
Produce video clips and performance reviews for coaches and players.
Support the Director of Rugby and coaching team with opposition analysis where required.
Assist in the creation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for players.
Help maintain performance databases, player tracking systems and development records.
Create educational video content to support coaching and player learning.
Assist with the delivery and evaluation of training sessions.
Support talent identification and player pathway programmes.
Contribute to rugby development projects across the club.
Assist with player recruitment and retention initiatives.
Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of player information.
Adhere to all club safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection policies.

This role will involve working collaboratively with coaches, players, volunteers and club officials in a dynamic sporting environment where flexibility, teamwork and professionalism are essential.

What We're Looking For
Passion for rugby league, coaching and player development.
A strong desire to learn within a performance sport environment.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to analyse performance and communicate observations effectively.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Professional attitude and ability to work independently.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends during the season.
Essential Experience / Qualifications
Currently studying, or recently completed, a degree in Sport, Coaching, Performance Analysis, Sports Science, Physical Education or a related subject.
Understanding of team sports coaching principles and performance analysis.
Basic video editing and computer literacy skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to commit throughout the rugby league season.
Full UK driving licence or ability to travel to training and match venues.
Desirable Experience
Experience using Veo, Hudl, Nacsport or similar analysis platforms.
Previous involvement in rugby league, rugby union or other team sports.
Experience supporting coaching sessions.
Knowledge of athlete development models and player pathways.
Content creation, social media or video production experience.
