Dame Sarah Storey is the UK’s most successful Paralympian, having competed across nine Games and two sports from 1992 to 2024. Her career in sport has been matched by roles in sport and public life, including running her own professional cycling team, leading the North West Disability Swim Squad as Head Coach and now chairing Lancashire Cricket Club.
Since 2013, Sarah has been a leading voice in active transport. She first advocated for British Cycling’s policy work and, since 2019, has served as Active Travel Commissioner: in South Yorkshire until 2022, and in Greater Manchester for the past four and a half years. Sarah also sits on the Board at the Department for Transport. She is a sought-after keynote speaker and regular sports broadcaster, with experience across TV events from World Championships to the Commonwealth Games. She took on her first on-screen presenting role at the Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.
A Visiting Professor of Sport at Manchester Metropolitan University, Sarah hung up her race wheels in July 2026. She is now building a new career with the same drive, determination and work ethic that made her so successful across 35 years as an international athlete.
