World Para Taekwondo Championships
19 October 2017
Making its debut at Tokyo 2020, see future Paralympic medal winners at the World Para Taekwondo Championships at the Copper Box, London.
This will be a key event for athletes to gain crucial ranking points that will help determine who will head to their first Paralympic Games.
111 athletes from 37 countries competed at the 2015 edition, so you can expect world-class and fiercely contested matches.
Three-time Para Taekwondo European champion, Amy Truesdale is delighted by the prospect of fighting in front of a home crowd. “It’s great news, not only for me but Para Taekwondo. It will be fantastic to have the support of a home crowd and hopefully the Championships will showcase the sport to a wider audience and encourage more people to participate.”
The World Championships marks the start of four international taekwondo events being held in the UK, including the WTF Grand Prix also taking place at the Copper Box from 20-22 October.
