These policies have been produced in a generic format to reflect the needs of employees in the high performance system and those you may employ elsewhere in your organisations – to avoid having two sets of policies. They may therefore need to be adapted to fit the specific structure and delegations of your NGB. Some of you have well-resourced HR and Governance teams, others are more reliant on partners and advisors.
It is important to understand the interrelationship between discipline and grievance processes, and that a situation can involve the use of both processes. It is also possible that a grievance could also relate to a safeguarding and/or criminal matter and entail the requirement to inform statutory authorities.
It remains each NGB’s responsibility to ensure that it takes full ownership of these policies and understands their application.
