Annual ICES International Exchange Seminars bring together leading community coach education and development organisations to network and share good practice.

Inaugural ICES Exchange Seminar

Members of the ICES network share ideas at the inaugural seminar

The inaugural ICES International Exchange Seminar was held in London in April, 2010. The seminar brought together lead officers from a network of international agencies focused on community sport education. The seminar’s objectives were to share good practice, facilitate professional exchange and engage with common issues and challenges.

The agencies that participated in the seminar represented a diverse group of stakeholders involved in community sport in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, Oceania and South Asia.

A focus within each agency’s mission is improving the sport and developmental experience for children and young people. The common link is a commitment to quality training, development and support of community coaches, sport leaders and practitioners as a key strategy in achieving this mission.

Testimonial: The Supreme Council of Sport in Africa Zone VI Sport Education and Accreditation Systems Project Officer Hikabwa Chipande:
“I learnt a lot from getting this collection of knowledgeable people and agencies together. This has been a highly valuable activity in supporting my work.”
