Naomi Hicks has been appointed as the new Director of Communications and Partnerships at UK Sport, the UK’s high performance sports agency. Naomi joins from international conservation organisation WWF where she has held various senior positions, most recently Director of Partnerships.

Naomi will be responsible for the delivery of UK Sport’s communications, public affairs, stakeholder engagement and research functions as well as leading on the organisation’s key partnerships. She will report to the incoming CEO, Sally Munday.

Naomi Hicks said: “I’m thrilled to be joining UK Sport at such an exciting time. I passionately believe in the power of sport to connect communities and countries and transform lives and believe that the culture of world class success which UK Sport has established provides the perfect opportunity for this.

“With Tokyo 2020 less than a year away, the implementation of a new strategy and a greater focus than ever before on the social impact which Olympic and Paralympic success can deliver, I can’t wait to get started.”

Simon Morton, interim CEO of UK Sport said: “Naomi was the outstanding candidate in a strong field of applicants. She brings an impressive range of experience, particularly in the field of social impact, an area of increasing importance for us as we look to engage athletes and sports leaders while also maximising the opportunity of our hosted major events.

“I look forward to welcoming Naomi to the team and working with her to make sure that our National Lottery funding continues to enable future generations of British athletes to achieve their dreams and inspire the entire nation.”

Naomi will take up her post at UK Sport on Thursday 31st October.
