ACE served by CD Rom
SubscribeAndy Probert 28 February 2001
A NEW CD Rom developed by the UK Sports Institute will give the country's top sportsmen and women access to services of the Athlete Career and Education (ACE UK) programme.
ACE UK aims to help athletes achieve sporting success today by positively preparing them for the future. The CD ROM contains detailed information outlining the Personal Best Workshops, which are part of the programme designed to help athletes to bring a balance to their lives and allow them to cope with the special demands of being an elite athlete.
THE WORKSHOPS are available free to athletes who are included in their sport's World Class Performance Programmes and their Home Country institute programmes and vary from nutritional cooking and personal taxation to public speaking. Athletes can choose and book training direct from the CD ROM via the Internet.
They stay in regular contact with their Athlete Advisers via e-mail wherever they are in the world and visit over 148 websites, all at the touch of a button. Advice and guidance on installation details and computer requirements are also included.
A programme of the UK Sports Institute, ACE UK provides athletes with high quality career, education and personal development advice and guidance. It is a national programme, which is delivered locally, wherever an athlete lives, trains or works. The programme is modelled on the Australian Institute of Sport "ACE" programme.
