Job Description
SUMMARY:

Cambridge United wish to appoint Development Coaches to work within the Clubs Primary School Sport and Education Programme.

The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering Cambridge United Football Club Primary School Sport and Education Programme, currently delivering in over 75 primary schools across the region.

The role will involve teaching a variety of sports to primary school aged children.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Delivery of school sport and community sport coaching sessions as and when requested according to an agreed schedule. This will include delivery during evenings and weekends.

-Administration of all registers for sessions delivered.

-Input of all required data for school sport sessions to Substance Views and any other sessions as requested by the Primary School Sport and Education Manager.

-Delivery of matchday-related activities on 10 Saturdays or as and when requested according to an agreed schedule.

-To meet/exceed the KPI targets to be agreed with the Primary School Sport and Education Manager.

-Promotion of all Company activities and programmes by appropriate means.

-Progress toward the completion of the Level 3 certificate in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport and, if appropriate, the FA Level 2 Football Coaching qualification, with course fees paid by the Company, and any other professional
qualifications as reasonably requested by the Primary School Sport and Education Manager.

-Promote community sport activities, including ensuring the implementation of processes set by the Community Sport Manager.

-Shadowing of school sport, community sport and youth development coaching sessions as and when requested according to an agreed schedule, to develop your coaching capabilities. This will include delivery during evenings and weekends.

-Adherence to national governing body (Football Association) guidelines. This includes maintenance of FA Licensed Coaches Club membership, which requires valid certificates in the following: FA qualifications, FA Emergency First Aid, FA disclosure and Barring
Service, FA Safeguarding Children. Trainee Coaches must also complete the requisite continual professional development with the FA.

-Adherence to Cambridge United Coaching Code of Conduct with all
delivery.


PERSON SPECIFICATION:

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Essential:

-Experience of coaching sport to children.

-Experience of managing relationships with children and parents.

Desirable:

-Experience of School Sport and Physical Education in a primary school
setting.

-Experience of safeguarding requirements when working with children.

SKILLS:

Essential:

-Excellent oral communication skills.

-Ability to inspire, lead and motivate.

-Ability to monitor, evaluate and assess your own performance.

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

Essential:

- A positive attitude towards professional development and learning.

-Enthusiasm and passion for sport.

-Enthusiasm and passion for working with children.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

- Level 2 Football Coach OR Level 2 in another sport and Level 1 Football Coach.

-A full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

-Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of PE and School Sport.

-Coaching qualifications in other sports apart from football.
