The Champions Trophy is the biggest annual tournament in world hockey with six of the world’s top hockey playing nations competing every year. For the first time ever, the event will be held in England in 2010, giving sports fans in this country the perfect opportunity to see world class international hockey live and up close. From 10-18 July 2010 the Samsung Hockey Champions Trophy will be held in Nottingham and will see England’s women (ranked 6th in the world) taking on the Netherlands (1st), Argentina (2nd), China (3rd), Germany (4th) and New Zealand (9th) in six exciting matches over nine days.
Running alongside the Samsung Hockey Champions Trophy, Women, Nottingham 2010 will be a four nations men’s test series involving Great Britain, Germany, Japan and New Zealand. For the GB men the tournament will provide an early opportunity to impress the coaches and stake a claim for London 2012.
