Athlete Futures

The Athlete Futures event staged at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry was hailed a huge success after more than 300 elite athletes attended to explore career options after retirement from sport.

Athlete Futures, which is the only event of its kind in the UK, saw over 40 big businesses in attendance including Aldi, Camelot, Adecco, Halfords and Goldman Sachs on Tuesday 1 November 2016.

The event has come about through a partnership UK Sport, the English Institute of Sport (EIS), the British Olympic Association (BOA) and the British Paralympic Association (BPA) in order to help athletes identify opportunities to make them job ready when they retire.

Liz Nicholl, CEO of UK Sport, said: “Athlete Futures is an amazing event. It is something we have held before following the Summer Olympic Games (after London 2012) but this time around, it has been bigger and better than ever before.”
